Sound Requirements

  • Requirements For Full Band

  • ENGINEER:
    Venue must provide an experienced sound engineer capable of mixing a full band and who knows that the vocals MUST be heard above all.
     
    MIXING CONSOLE:
    A professional mixing console with a minimum of 16 inputs, and capable of 4 independent pre fader monitor mixes.(see stage plot)

    SPEAKERS and POWER:
    Power amps(house and monitor): Must be sufficient enough to amplify a full band without distortion or feedback.
    House speakers: Must be at least 2 way and able to fill the room cleanly and evenly.
    Sub woofer: Can also be provided, but not absolutely necessary.
    Monitor speakers: Must be high quality to ensure vocals can clearly be heard.

    OUTBOARD:
    One-third octave EQ (30-33 band) for main mix and 4 monitor mixes independent of one another.
    High quality reverb device such as TC Electronics,Yamaha. Lexicon.
     
    MICROPHONES:
    Vocals - Shure SM58 (3)
    Instruments(el.guitar) and Drums(toms & snare) - Shure SM57 (at least 5)
    Drum Overheads and Hat- Shure SM81(3)
    Kick Drum - Audix D6, Shure Beta 52A, or AKG D112
    Also; enough boom stands to accommodate singers and instruments.(see stage plot)
     
    GUITAR AMPS(if out of home state):
    1st preference - '65 Fender Deluxe (1x12 vintage or reissue tube amp)
    2nd preference - Fender Twin Reverb (2x12 tube amp)

    Bass Amp(if out of state):
    1st preference - David Eden
    2nd prefence - Trace Elliot

    DI:
    1 DI needed for bass player.
    1 XLR for artist,and 1 XLR for guitar player's acoustic guitar.

    ELECTRICAL POWER REQUIREMENTS:
    Power stage right (back and front for el.guitar) and stage left (back for bass amp)

Monitor speakers: Must be high quality to ensure vocals can clearly be heard
