10 Mountains 10 Years The Movie & The Regulars

Backlight Productions announced Sept. 18 2009 that "Bruce Springsteen has joined the sound track for 10 Mountains 10 Years documentary feature film."

The film chronicles Enzo Simone and his international team of mountain climbers, The Regulars, as they scale 10 of the greatest peaks in the world to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. 44.5 vertical miles. 7 countries. 6 continents. 2 diseases. And one decade. From Mont Blanc to Mt. Everest, the film tracks the greatest advances and climbs happening in the medical community, alongside the team's endurance at altitude. The film also follows select individuals battling these two diseases with their caregivers in the long term.

Loretta Hagen is in good company, and Leeza Gibbons opens the film and actress Anne Hathaway narrates. The title track of Hagen's CD, "Sundown Till Dawn" also included on the soundtrack, is her most personal recording to date. After her mother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease seven years ago, Loretta and her family became round the clock caregivers in their mom's home, dealing with the changes and challenges that come with such a terrible disease. For Loretta and her family, it's been an emotional roller coaster, and her song paints a clear picture of how her mom has suffered.

Loretta's hopes are that her song will help to raise awareness and funding for research, so that others will one day be spared the suffering these diseases inflict.

A tireless advocate for Alzheimer's disease, and Hagen was chosen by the National Alzheimer's Association to perform her song Sundown Till Dawn, during the Candlelight Vigil at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC for the Public Policy Forum.

30 million families worldwide are directly affected by Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. This is a story of hope and of common everyday people coming together to change this world and leave something better behind.

The proceeds from the film go towards medical research and caregiver programs. 10 Mountains 10 Years held its world premiere at the Connecticut Film Festival in Danbury Connecticut May 5 earning "Best Documentary Film" playing to a packed house in this 400 seat theater.

Subject: UPDATE: From the 10 Mountains 10 Years Film Producer

Hey guys,
I don't even know where to begin with this little email. Maybe it's just me but I think this is big news to have a giant like "the Boss" decide he wanted to be a part of our 10 Mountains - 10 Years Movie. As you also already know Leeza Gibbons has already filmed the opening for the movie, and she was an angel to actually meet in person while I was in Los Angeles finishing the film.

But, as if this news couldn't get any bigger we'll have another even more massive "surprise" update featuring another celeb giant who has joined our quest to find the cures. The production company will fill everyone in on this news along with the official film trailer release sometime around Halloween. If you haven't already joined the movies "10 Mountains, 10 Years (movie)" page on Facebook then definitely join it and stay updated on progress with the film.

It amazes us every day how when it feels like we're on our last rope, something or someone even bigger steps in to help us. When I started this project I thought I stepped into the arena by myself, but it seems that I'm slowly starting to get company I never expected. I would have never imagined any of this happening when my little 10 Mountains - 10 Years project began. Now I'm starting to get excited.

Hope everyone is well. Thank you so much for expanding the size of our Facebook group by sharing it with your friends. It is tremendous and we are very grateful!

We are thrilled to report that Bruce Springsteen has joined the soundtrack for 10 Mountains 10 Years! We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to feature one of his songs, and for his philanthropic heart.

Special thanks to the Miracle Worker Ownbey Sisters and their ultra kindness! Mr. Springsteen compliments an ever beautiful musical team sprinkling fairy dust on this story.

Like energies attract. The community that we have formed together is due to all of you guys.

We are currently packaging the movie for Sundance. We will be releasing the official trailer at about Halloween-time. More exciting news to come with the release of the trailer.
